I love embracing different cultures and traditions, and obviously dressing up. I might have gone a little over the edge with these photos, but I think the exotic look suits me.
I went to my very first Hindu wedding celebration this weekend and it was amazing. This was the same couple that got married last weekend, however with two strong cultures (Portuguese and Indian) they needed two separate occasions to fit in all the traditions, family and food.
Leading up to the wedding, all of us ladies got henna tattoos. Here are a few examples during the process. These are traditionally done on the palms of the hands (which absorb the ink better because of body temperature), however I alternated sides of my hands and also got a design on my back since my outfit would reveal it. I figured I'd go all out.
You can see the bride's hands are covered up like gloves. |
I am a little sad all the festivities are now over. I still can't wait to see the professional photos from the original bridal party.
Wishing you all love and laughter this beautiful Monday morning.
