Veggie Burgers...with meat of course

Sorry to disappoint the vegans/vegetarians out there but I've got a great recipe to add a little green to your typical beef burger.

Well actually, I like to make my burgers with an equal mix of beef and pork. This adds to the flavours and the nutrients. This BBQ season I wanted to change things up a bit. If your kids or your man asks questions, just tell them it's a hulk burger or something Popeye would eat. It will help them get strong for sure. The idea is to sneak some veggies into the burger without disrupting the beauty that is the burger.

Mix Spinach & Garlic in the Food Processor
Grated Onion blends well to spread the flavour

1Lb. Ground Beef, 1Lb. Ground Pork for diversity
Salt, Pepper and any other herbs for seasoning

Mix together and Make your patties

Now just turn on your Grill

These burgers would cook the same as any other, and could actually be a bit juicier because of the added veggies. Perfect to top with Avocado, Tomato and (Jalapeno) Havarti Cheese, my favourite! I personally don't have the bun, which ususally means I can have two patties :)

Try this technique out for your next summer BBQ and remember this when making meatballs too. Spinach and basil would be amazing alongside some Italian tomato sauce.

Bon Appétit!
